About Academic Advising at CSUF

Academic advising is beyond course registration and orientation; it is a practice and an expertise that is at the very core of successful institutional efforts to educate and retain students. 

At Cal State Fullerton, academic advising consists of a team of professionals in each college to provide students with the most pertinent and robust advising.

College Advising Teams

Director/Associate Dean

  • Oversees strategy and planning
  • Provides team leadership and development
  • Leads strategic initiatives (assessment, training, communications and coperations)

Assistant Director

  • Leads college advising team
  • Leads training within the college
  • Serves as advising lead for urgent/critical cases

Advisors

  • Provides holistic and relational professional advising
  • Assists students with registration and enrollment
  • Serves as point-of-contact and cultivates long-term relationships with students
